'Light surprise' for Charmouth & Lyme Regis Plans are coming together for a spectacular light parade of Honda Goldwing motorcycles around Charmouth and Lyme Regis during the evening of Friday 11th May. Working with local officials and the police members of the Wessex region of the Goldwing Owners Club of Great Britain are organizing the Parade as part of a rally for their region’s 27th birthday celebrations. Normally only the usual road lights of white, red and amber are permitted to be shown on vehicles but by organising a special parade the Club is able to show off an amazing array of lights which can only be seen in off road situations. Four friends came together in 1980 to form the region which now has a membership of approx 90. A programme of events for members is organised during the year consisting of rides, socials, displaying at local shows. The Region has a tradition of fund raising for charities and over the years many thousands of pounds has been raised for local and national charities. In 2006 the Region was heavily involved in organising the British International Goldwing meeting in Wincanton .
